Yesterday (вчера) указывает на употребление Past Simple, в данном предложении речь идет об однократном действии в прошлом.

Действие началось до определенного момента в прошлом и еще продолжалось в этот момент – at 11 o’clock last night .

Задание 3.

Глагол-связка to be во времени Past Simple не требует использования вспомогательных глаголов при составлении отрицательных предложений.

Речь идет о действии, которое началось до определенного момента в прошлом и еще продолжалось в этот момент – at 8 o’clock last night .

Yesterday (вчера) указывает на употребление Past Simple.

Речь идет о действии, которое происходило в прошлом в определенный момент времени – at 10 o’clock this morning .

Задание 4.

Past Simple ( broke ) используется для выражения однократного действия в прошлом, которое произошло на фоне другого действия в прошлом, выраженного Past Continuous ( was skiing ).

Past Simple ( rang ) используется для выражения однократного действия в прошлом, которое произошло на фоне другого действия в прошлом, выраженного Past Continuous ( was driving ).

Когда речь идет о двух действиях, происходивших в один и тот же момент в прошлом, в обоих случаях может использоваться как Past Continuous, так и Past Simple.

Для выражения нескольких действий, происходящих в определенной последовательности в прошлом, используется Past Simple.

Past Simple ( heard ) используется для выражения однократного действия в прошлом, которое произошло на фоне другого действия в прошлом, выраженного Past Continuous ( was reading ).

Задание 5.

Yesterday (вчера) указывает на употребление Past Simple.

Children were playing outside when it started to rain.

Past Simple ( started ) используется для выражения однократного действия в прошлом, которое произошло на фоне другого действия в прошлом, выраженного Past Continuous ( were playing ).

At 10 o’clock in the morning students were writing a test.

Упражнение 1. Определите время глагола в предложениях ниже и сделайте данные предложения отрицательными.

I was at home.
