Образовав множественное число существительных и внеся соответствующие грамматические изменения в предложения, мы получим следующее:

1. She is a wonderfull child. — They are wonderful children. (множественное число существительного child образуется не по общему правилу, его нужно запомнить).

2. There is a computer in the box. — There are computers in the box. (конструкция there is используется с существительными в единственном числе и с неисчисляемыми, а there are — с существительными во множественном числе).

3. I’m a shop assistant. — We are shop assistants. (если с местоимением I используется форма настоящего времени глагола to be — am, то с местоимением we нужна уже другая его форма — are).

4. He is a postman. — They are postmen. (в данном случае форму множественного числа обретает вторая часть составного существительного (post + man); а существительное man является исключением, его множеcтвенное число образуется не по правилу — men — и это нужно запомнить. Также меняется форма вспомогательного глагола to be — c местоимением he используется is, а с they — are).

Exercise 6. Прочитайте рассказ. Выпишите имена существительные во множественном числе.

Little Bunny

In spring, I like to pick dandalions. These flowers are very nice, sweet and tasty. In summer I listen to the birds and insects. In autumn I watch bright leaves on the trees. In winter I dream about spring.

Exercise 7. Раскройте скобки, употребляя имена существительные во множественном числе.
